Matisyahu (born Matthew Paul Miller on June 30, 1979) is an American Jewish reggae artist known for his unique blend of traditional Jewish themes and reggae music. He was born and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania, but later moved to New York City to pursue his music career.

Matisyahu first gained popularity with his debut album “Shake off the Dust…Arise” in 2004, which showcased his soulful voice and his ability to mix Jewish spirituality with the reggae beats. His hit single “King Without a Crown” from the album became an instant success and propelled him into the mainstream music scene.

Throughout his career, Matisyahu has released several albums and collaborated with other artists such as Akon, Infected Mushroom, and J-Rock. He has also performed at various festivals around the world, including Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo.

Aside from his music, Matisyahu is also known for his personal spiritual journey and his commitment to his faith.
